Melbourne Storm has appointed global executive search firm, SRI, to lead the recruitment process to find their next Chief Executive Officer.
Storm Chairman, Matt Tripp, said the club had already had significant interest from candidates across Australia and overseas who will now be considered in the recruitment process managed by SRI.
“We are a club that is always looking to improve, on and off the field. We already have some of the best football and executive talent in Australian sport and we want to find the best CEO to support our staff and help drive the club to greater success,” Tripp said.
“Like most sports and businesses, we face some great challenges in the recovery from COVID but we have great foundations on which to become bigger and stronger. We are looking far and wide for the best person to step into the role and will be encouraging both internal and external candidates to put their hand up for what we believe is the most exciting job in Australian sport.”
SRI will take expressions of interest from candidates up until the end of January 2021, before finalising a short list for Tripp and the Board.
“Melbourne Storm is one of the most successful sporting organisations in Australia and will command great interest from local and international candidates,” SRI Australia and New Zealand Managing Partner, Jonathan Harris, said.
“The stability of Storm’s leadership team and shareholders enables us to put in place best-practice to find the next CEO. The Club has a vision to be the best and most respected professional sports organisation in Australia and we have no doubt they will attract an individual who brings performance excellence both on and off the field.”
